RMFN - post Martinsville

Gory details can be found here.
Big week at the paperclip - 30 300-plus scores, average score of 301 and a season-best 368 by the lovely BlessedWyomingMom.
WORLD CUP
Last year, 13 points was enough to secure a spot in the next round (Champion Qualifying). Eight is Enough (No. 39 seed) is undefeated through five games and has 15 points in the Bristol group. Seven teams enter Texas with 12 points.
SINGLE ELIMINATION BRACKET
Say goodbye to 17 teams - including the host team. CandiiRacers gets the Tough Luck award - six-week total of 1641 but eliminated in a matchup with need4speed. Candii's total would have won 12 other first-round matchups.
Amp 88 (the top seed for this competition) disappeared, so No. 30 HMS Chevy Gurl will advance to the third round.
Three second-round matchups feature tops among the top 15 in the Yahoo standings: No. 2 RacinProwler vs. No. 15 Rolling Thunder; No. 6 24rules vs. No. 8 ROADWARRIORS; and No. 4 Eight is Enough vs. No. 11 NDI.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION BRACKET
Tight matchups highlight the winners' bracke through two of four races in the second round. However, W-Y-O Racing, FC Newman (yup, that's me), KC Chief, PeTeeTong, Heavy Metal and Roadrunner have big points to make up; otherwise, they're headed to the losers' side.

SINGLE ELIMINATION HEAT
17 teams also exited this competition, included top-seeded Amp. Even though Amp had a bye into the second round, its departure added another qualification spot to the first-round participants - TURBO ~ 48 took that spot by nine points over Team Fritson. Heavy Metal, the next highest seed to be eliminated, was the next closest, 24 points behind TURBO.
32 teams will run in the second round and 16 advance to the third round.
DOUBLE ELIMINATION HEAT
Nine teams are within 100 points of the top-16 cutoff in the winners' heat. The losers' heat - outside of Amp - remains close; the top nine from that race advance.
Two races remain in the round.
OVERALL
27 teams are active in each of the competitions; testcar leads; and Candii is the highest ranked team (19th) with elimination from at least one competition.
