RPD - Martinsville

Gory details are here.
29 teams posted 300-plus scores, with an average score of 306. More impressive - in my mind - no one scored below 200 (though I tried my best, again). BlessedWyomingMom and Driver of the Dodge Caravan tied for the week's and season's top score (thus far) with 368.
WORLD CUP
Last year's magic number to advance to the second round (Champion Qualifying) was 13 points. Through six races, Junior Nation (No. 22 seed, 15 points in the Bristol Group), London Pride (No. 37 seed, 13 in Lowe's), and 24 Speed Demon (No. 49 seed, 15 in Martinsville) meet that number. Eight teams enter Texas with 12 points.
SINGLE ELIMINATION BRACKET
Seventeen teams were sent to the garage - GET IT TOGETHER FC NEWMAN!
Gotta Love Jr had an impressive 1810 over six races to advance; martski88 squeeked by with a 1413, and Ala @ Ga had the tough draw and lost with 1641 points (that total would have won 11 other matchups).
Three second-round matchups feature teams among the top 15 in the Yahoo standings - No. 3 need4speed vs. No. 8 jackman48; No. 11 kl motorsports vs. No. 13 #3 WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN; and No. 2 TOOLIN' vs. No. 6 Tony is the Man.
DOUBLE ELIMINATION BRACKET
No leader in the winners' bracket has built a 100-plus point lead except for need4speed. Its result over JESTER is a given (JESTER left and will finish 50th).

In the losers' bracket, most of those races are tight, as well. But Recession Aggression has 122 points to make up in the final two races of the round against Gonzo Racing.

SINGLE ELIMINATION HEAT
17 teams also left this competition, but the cutoff was tight for some of those not moving on. Anyone but Jimmie took the final spot with 1566 points - two better than Wade Chapman and six better than Crash Test Dummy. (WHERE YA AT FC NEWMAN?!?)
32 teams will run in the second round and 16 advance to the third round.
DOUBLE ELIMINATION HEAT
Only two teams are outside of 100 points within the 16-team cutoff in the winners' heat - vacant JESTER and - yup, you guessed it - FC Newman. In the losers' heat, the entire 18-team field is separated by 227 points.
Two races remain in the second round
OVERALL
28 teams are active in each of our competitions; Gotta Love Jr leads; and Ala @ Ga is the highest ranked team (21st) with at least one elimination from a competition.

RMFN - post Martinsville

Gory details can be found here.
Big week at the paperclip - 30 300-plus scores, average score of 301 and a season-best 368 by the lovely BlessedWyomingMom.
WORLD CUP
Last year, 13 points was enough to secure a spot in the next round (Champion Qualifying). Eight is Enough (No. 39 seed) is undefeated through five games and has 15 points in the Bristol group. Seven teams enter Texas with 12 points.
SINGLE ELIMINATION BRACKET
Say goodbye to 17 teams - including the host team. CandiiRacers gets the Tough Luck award - six-week total of 1641 but eliminated in a matchup with need4speed. Candii's total would have won 12 other first-round matchups.
Amp 88 (the top seed for this competition) disappeared, so No. 30 HMS Chevy Gurl will advance to the third round.
Three second-round matchups feature tops among the top 15 in the Yahoo standings: No. 2 RacinProwler vs. No. 15 Rolling Thunder; No. 6 24rules vs. No. 8 ROADWARRIORS; and No. 4 Eight is Enough vs. No. 11 NDI.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION BRACKET
Tight matchups highlight the winners' bracke through two of four races in the second round. However, W-Y-O Racing, FC Newman (yup, that's me), KC Chief, PeTeeTong, Heavy Metal and Roadrunner have big points to make up; otherwise, they're headed to the losers' side.

SINGLE ELIMINATION HEAT
17 teams also exited this competition, included top-seeded Amp. Even though Amp had a bye into the second round, its departure added another qualification spot to the first-round participants - TURBO ~ 48 took that spot by nine points over Team Fritson. Heavy Metal, the next highest seed to be eliminated, was the next closest, 24 points behind TURBO.
32 teams will run in the second round and 16 advance to the third round.
DOUBLE ELIMINATION HEAT
Nine teams are within 100 points of the top-16 cutoff in the winners' heat. The losers' heat - outside of Amp - remains close; the top nine from that race advance.
Two races remain in the round.
OVERALL
27 teams are active in each of the competitions; testcar leads; and Candii is the highest ranked team (19th) with elimination from at least one competition.
